Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The astonishing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is true of many borders.

The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling hall, features 150 slot machine games and 60 table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a multinational resort and hotel complex that highlights many amenities accompanying the gambling hall, which provides ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
