First to explain the reason I wrote this essay. I have been gambling on the net or at a brick and mortar betting houses for many years. I have discovered, the fixation can take a hold of you and you will not even notice it up until you are bankrupt. Especially if you are on a winning streak. I’ve gone through countless thousands of dollars in only a short amount of time and to this day on occasion, I’ll go too far. It appears you are just having a blast until you decide to be aware of your loss and the anguish sets in, and then you continue to tell yourself "I can win it back" repeatedly. It never works. Then you become queasy in your stomach and the harder you try the faster you lose.

When you notice that you are up, remain on the UP! When you start to lose, don’t tell yourself, "well perhaps one more" and over and over again, believe me, this plan RARELY ever operates. Say you are betting on slots, have an amount set to the side before starting your play. DO NOT exceed that limit, no matter how appealing. If you actually win, put that in a separate cup. Do not use your successes no matter what. As soon as you’ve gambled through your original set limit, call it a day. Head out, whether it’s on the net or at a brick and mortar casino, don’t stay around. Always remember, there will be another day, another time.

Always remember, wagering should be FUN not exhausting, nauseating work! If you aren’t having fun yourself, you do not belong there. If youcannot afford the loss, do not even start.
